About
Realizing Freedom Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to a world in which we remember who we truly are. We believe that contemplative practices—rooted in stillness, awareness, and inner inquiry—are essential tools for healing, transformation, and liberation. Our mission is to make these practices accessible to all by offering scholarships and cultivating community partnerships. We center equity and belonging in all we do, recognizing that the journey inward is not a luxury, but a birthright. Together, we support individuals and communities in reclaiming the inner tools to live with presence, wholeness, and freedom.

Caverly Morgan
Caverly Morgan is a spiritual teacher, non-profit founder, speaker and writer who blends the original spirit of Zen with a modern nondual approach. She is the author of The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together as well as A Kids Book About Mindfulness.
Her practice began in 1995 and has included eight years of training in a silent Zen monastery. She has been teaching contemplative practice since 2001.
Caverly is the founder of Peace in Schools, a nonprofit that created the nation’s first for-credit mindfulness class in public high schools. She is also the founder of Realizing Freedom Together, a non-profit organization dedicated to making practices that lead to liberation for all, accessible to all.

Jason Mersman
Jason earned his CPA credential in 1996 and since 2004 has run a tax preparation and consulting firm in Santa Cruz, California which has always included non-profit clients. His family, home improvement projects, and various hobbies that come and go round out his life.
At the foundation of Jason’s tax practice is a commitment to act and speak with integrity, sincerity and love. While taxes and love might seem like an odd combination, Jason’s years of leaning into contemplative practices leave him with an understanding that what you do isn’t as important as how you do it. Those practices also helped him transform from a quiet, painfully shy child to a much more at-ease adult with a healthy sense of self love and belonging. And so he’s deeply grateful for the opportunity to help make contemplative practices accessible to all.

Latifa Till
As an explorer of the mysteries of the heart, Latifa understands Love, ease, joy and beauty as our natural state. A core element of her teaching supports her students and clients in noticing and working with obstacles that hinder these states.
She is a Sheikha (senior teacher) with the Sufi Ruhaniat International, a senior Dance Leader with the Dances of Universal Peace, and a Semazan (whirling dervish). Latifa studies and offers Japanese Tea Ceremony and is nourished by non-dual teachings from many traditions.
Having been a fundraiser for Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association, as well as supporting Board development for many non-profits, Latifa is utterly delighted to be lending her heart and energies to Realizing Freedom Together.
As a Coach and Spiritual Teacher, she is most passionate about supporting seekers, one-on-one, to uncover what keeps us feeling separate–not good enough, isolated, unlovable–and helping to guide them back to their own inner wisdom and connection.

Patricia Long-Brohm
Patricia Long-Brohm is a licensed clinical social worker with over two decades of experience as a psychotherapist, with much of her career devoted to working with underserved populations. Her clinical work integrates mindfulness and somatic therapies, reflecting her belief in the power of embodied experience to foster growth and healing.
Her own two decades of meditation practice, combined with her professional understanding of embodied healing and her commitment to reducing barriers to care, are why Patricia is honored to join the Realizing Freedom Together board.
A new resident of Whidbey Island, Patricia has already thrown herself into the island’s rich nonprofit community, volunteering with the Organic Farm School, the Whidbey Institute, and hospice, in addition to tending a community garden with her neighbors. Her heart sings in nature and in community — and she feels deeply grateful to have found both on Whidbey Island.
